Halloween

On Thursday we carved our pumpkin. Brian found a fun Cat and moon template. Clara didn't want to play with the goo inside the pumpkin.

This morning we got up at 4 to drive to Boston, GA. Julie and I ran the half Marathon and finished in 2 hours. It was Julie's first half Marathon and she did great. It was a nice course with rolling hills in the countryside. It was humid and it was getting pretty warm when we finished around mid 80's. I got third in my age group and got a nice coffee cup.

Tonight we took Clara around the neighborhood with some of of the girls. They had fun none of them could say Trick or Treat. It was a little cool and sprinkled some. Clara can say Halloween it is so cute!

Halloween Fun

So what have we been up to in the last week you wonder. Well let me tell you. My Mom came to town on Friday the same day Colleen went home. Saturday I ran a 5k in 22:40ish and that night Clara had a Halloween Party. She had fun with her friends. We had chili-cheese dogs. They were very good. Julie made some cute mummy cupcakes.

Sunday we went on a 8 mile bike ride. Clara and I came down with colds.

Tonight we went to Southside Baptist for a Fall Festival. We went on a train ride, cupcake walk, and got balloon dogs. The balloon dog made it half way to the car. The was a great night to go to the Festival it was in the 70's.

This Saturday we are going to Boston, GA so I can run the Mini-Boston Marathon. Then we will take Clara trick or treating Saturday night. She can say Halloween. It is so cute.

Lane's Packing and Mossy Creek

On Thursday Aunt Colleen came to visit. Clara has been very excited. The first day she wanted her to do her hair and put her to bed. It was cute. Friday we went to playgroup and then went to a few stores to collect free items. It was very exciting to get free underwear from Victoria Secret!

Saturday I got up at four to go run 15 miles and do a trash clean-up. Later in the day we had a baby shower to go to. I fell asleep so we were only able to drop off the gift before heading to Lane's to do the corn Maze. Clara enjoyed the free children's maze more than anything. She climbed on the hay stacks and jumped off them. She enjoyed playing on the tractors and pretending to drive them. She also enjoyed some peach ice cream!!

Today we went to the Mossy Creek Festival in Perry. They had such fun things for Clara to do. She and I went to the petting zoo to feed the goats and steers. Then I held a bunny for her to pet. They also had chickens to watch. After the steer ate the food off my hand he kept licking me it was funny. After that she rode a horse and went on a hay ride. They had lots of good food to enjoy. I enjoyed the fried pies and taco salad. Brian he enjoyed a brat and fries.

We enjoyed our weekend!

Camping at High Falls State Park

We went camping with the Ray Family. Clara enjoyed having "Jorie" around to play with. We left on Friday night to go camping the weather looked really good. As soon as we got to our campsite and had the tent laid out the rain started to pour down. So I was hammering on the stakes and the Host shows up and wanted us to pay them so Brian was trying to do that and I a hammering into rocks. By the time we got the tent up there were puddles everywhere. We made dinner and set up the mattresses and went to bed.

Saturday Julie and I ran 4 miles with the girls. We made Omelets. We took The Ray's canoe out to the lake and took turns paddling around the lake. Clara seemed to have enjoyed it. she just stood or sat between Brian's legs. When we went to the playgroup at the lake Jasmine went crazy in the sand playing in it. It was really cute. Clara told us all about it when she was done watching doggie play. We took the girls on a car ride. Then we went on a hike and came back and made dinner.

Sunday we got up and went to a trail. It was one that no one should ever bring a stroller through. It was "Technical" as Brian put it. Clara didn't want in the stroller since Brian was pushing her through tree branches and lifting the stroller on rocks. So I carried her through the longest 2 miles ever. It sure wasn't what I was excepted. Later that day we went to Dauset Nature Center. www.dausttrails.com It was all free. which was really cool. They had a mini- zoo, reptile center, and barn animals plus hiking trails and a Children's Garden. It was a lot of fun. We saw turtles and carp and catfish in the lake. It was quite the place.

We woke up at 6 to down pours and it continued until 8 when we got up to pack up. So endless to say Clara loves rain and puddles and all of our camping stuff is soaked and laying out in the garage.

We had a great time. I wish I had pictures but our camera broke.

Atlanta Weekend

This week we went to Atlanta and had a great time. We left Jasmine with a guy Brian works with. Clara kept asking about her and Brian would tell her Jasmine was on a vacation from Clara. Saturday we went to pick up my packet then the hotel. The traffic was pretty heavy. I was wanting to go to Atlantic Station for dinner, but once we got to the Hotel we decided to go to a closer location. We needed up at the Cheesecake Factory. Brian hadn't been there before. It was good and the pumpkin cheesecake was great! I was worried I over ate on Sat. but it turned out good.

Sunday I got up at 4:30 to hear Clara giggling and saying, " My Daddy!" It was cute. I looked over at Brian and Clara had pushed him to the far edge of the King size bed. He maybe had 6 inches. Then I took the MARTA with my running group to the race. The MARTA is Atlanta's train/Bus system. I ran 13.1 in one hour 53 minutes. I called Brian when I finished and they were still on the MARTA and hadn't made it to the finish line. So once he got there I was ready to go. He told me Clara was giving him a hard time at Breakfast. It was kind of funny she smelled like Strawberries. So we went back to the Hotel and I showered and we checked out. For lunch we went to The Varsity. It was good. Clara screamed the whole time. When we got home she had a fever. She woke up at 5 today with a fever too.

It was so hard for me to get up at 5 this morning. She finally fell back asleep at 10 and so did I. We woke up at 2:30 this afternoon. Clara hasn't wanted to eat much. I am pretty sure she has more teeth coming in. She seemed better tongith just didn't want to eat much at dinner.
