Fall has arrived!!

It finally feels like fall in Georgia!! We woke up and it was 50 out! We are two days without having to run the air!! So exciting! So let's see what is new and exciting...

Saturday- We went to Joja's birthday party. Clara enjoyed playing with her friends and eating cookies and cake! Later that day we went to Summerbash on Base. They had lot of fun things for the kids to do. Clara rode a train, on the carousel, played with the outside toys, played on the slides, and ate lots of yummy food. The best part all the rides were free and it was booster clubs selling the food so it was cheap. We had lots of fun. I bought her a tuto. Grandma Karen is making her one but I thought she could have one she could get dirty and isn't special. So on Sunday she wore it around the house.

Sunday- We just cleaned and did laundry. Worked outside in the backyard. The front still requires a lot of attention.

Monday and Tuesday I subbed in the afternoon so Clara stayed with Julie. Julie got both girls to take naps which I thought was pretty great! The kids wore me out yesterday, I fell asleep putting Clara to bed. Brian had to come wake me up. Jorja and Clara seem to have colds now so I won't sub anymore this week, but hopefully next week I can do a few days.

Today we went to the thrift store. We were in the clearance room Clara found a pair of sandals and before I could say anything she had hers off and the others on. So needless to say we bought the shoes good thing they were only 25 cents. Then we went to the Commissary Clara chewed a hole in the cheese and ripped open a few boxes of noodles and lost a sock. It was quite the morning. Funny now. At the store I asked her if she was a mouse. She just looked at me and tried to dig something else out she could play with. It was nice there were a s few screaming kids there today. payday.

This weekend we are going to Atlanta so I can run a half marathon. Then the next weekend we go camping which we are pretty excited about.

We are home

The cousins at Aunt Carol's on Sunday night.

We drove home on Monday. It rained on us all day but the worst was in Atlanta. Then the storm was here later that night. It was a good one.

Brian is back to work. Seems like all is going well. They are not moving him like he thought. He seems to be busy. He has been doing his PT every morning. So Clara gets to see him twice in the morning, at lunch and then at night. She loves it.

Clara and I are getting back into a routine between running and her taking naps. She is having to cry it out again. But it will get better soon. The same is for bedtime.

Yesterday when she woke up we did finger painting and Clara painted herself blue. It was pretty funny. I cleaned her up some but wanted Brian to see her. Then she went in her room and dumped all her stuffed animals, so when Brian got home he couldn't even open her door to get in. He said what happened here today? Clara is blue and her floor is covered in Stuffed animals. It was funny. She got a bath for sure last night.

Today Clara's friend "Jojie" (Joja) came over. They had fun getting use to one another again. It had been a little over a month . So they both have changed a lot. They had fun and had ice cream cupcakes.

We have been trying to figure out our next camping trips. Next weekend we are going to Atlanta so I can run a half Marathon. Then the week after that we hope to go camping. I know Clara would love it. We are going to have a another family go with us. Then Clara can have a friend to explore the outdoors with.

We love and miss everyone!

Air Force Marathon

Two guys from Brian's work that were running too.

Yesterday Brian and I got up at 3am to get ready to travel to Dayton, OH for the Air Force Marathon. Clara slept in and Grandma and Grandpa Murray and Aunt Colleen brought her up later. Brian and I got to the race real early like 5:30 and the race started at 7:30. The weather was cool and windy. So we found a spot to sit and Brian drank lots of coffee. The race started with a fly over it was really neat. The race went well but by mile 16 I started to have sore muscles and it got worse as the miles went on. I stopped and stretched at one water station. I made it to mile 21 and then walked a few miles. I found a nice woman to walk with me and keep me from thinking how bad I felt. I then ran the last mile with another man I found along the course that said he hurt really bad too. So my time was 5 hours. I was happy to see the finish line and the food tent. One of my friends was there with her husband so she met me at the finish line along with Clara and Brian.

Clara loved getting to ride on a bus. She kept doing the wheels on the bus go round and round. It was cute.

I think everyone had a good time. On the way back Brian took me on a ferry. It was fun. Then we went back and I iced and ate and iced and went to bed. I feel really good today.

Here are a few websites that had info about the race.

Labor Day 10K

Two Pictures from the Labor Day Road Race.

We are getting ready to go to KY.

Brian had his first day back to work... He had a meeting and a BBQ with beer. Real hard day. Clara had a great time at the BBQ. She hit a pinata. It was cute. When an older kid broke it open she got Sponge Bob Crabby Patties. Brian pulled tug of war. Clara thought that was funny to watch grown men pull on a rope or maybe that was me.

We had playgroup here and Clara enjoyed seeing her friends.

Camping

We went camping at Fort McAllister State Park. The first day we set up our tent and camp. Clara seemed a little hesitant and stayed real close to us. She went wild when she saw a squirrel. Then she was really excited that night when a raccoon came to visit and I was making weird noises to scary it away. Clara just laughed.

Then the next day was cloudy. We went running then ate and showered. I showered with a tree frog. It scared me when I opened my eyes and there he was. Then we went to Tybee Island. It was too windy and cold really to get into the water, so we collected shells. I think the funniest part was when we tried to eat our lunch and we got sand blasted. We ate our sandy sandwiches. That night the raccoon came back while we were roasting marshmallows. Then stayed around to dig in our trash. Clara wanted to know where the raccoon went when we were in our tent. I told her he went to go find yummies. She kept asking about the squirrels and raccoons.

The third day we went back to Tybee Island and Brian found a new spot to go swim. It was nice. It had a sand bar which prevented the waves and it was still near the waves so we could do both. Clara and Brian made me into a mermaid. Brian got a back weird sun burn. I guess he needed help putting sun block on but Clara was running towards the water so he didn't get much help from me. Clara fed the birds some of her sandwich. She loved the birds swarming her. I wanted them to take a hike. Then we ate at the Crab Shack on the way back to camp. Clara loved the cats they have there. We got a specialty plate there with crawfish, mussels shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn. It was good. Clara loved the corn she ate it right off the cob.

Clara didn't want to come home she loved camping!!
