Yesterday Brian and I got up at 3am to get ready to travel to Dayton, OH for the Air Force Marathon. Clara slept in and Grandma and Grandpa Murray and Aunt Colleen brought her up later. Brian and I got to the race real early like 5:30 and the race started at 7:30. The weather was cool and windy. So we found a spot to sit and Brian drank lots of coffee. The race started with a fly over it was really neat. The race went well but by mile 16 I started to have sore muscles and it got worse as the miles went on. I stopped and stretched at one water station. I made it to mile 21 and then walked a few miles. I found a nice woman to walk with me and keep me from thinking how bad I felt. I then ran the last mile with another man I found along the course that said he hurt really bad too. So my time was 5 hours. I was happy to see the finish line and the food tent. One of my friends was there with her husband so she met me at the finish line along with Clara and Brian.
Clara loved getting to ride on a bus. She kept doing the wheels on the bus go round and round. It was cute.
I think everyone had a good time. On the way back Brian took me on a ferry. It was fun. Then we went back and I iced and ate and iced and went to bed. I feel really good today.
Here are a few websites that had info about the race.
